To meet your specific heating requirements, the user-friendly control panel features a programmable thermostat and three heat settings. The device can be set to automatically switch on when the temperature falls below 44 degrees Fahrenheit by using the anti-freeze option. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
- Read all instructions before using this heater.
- If your radiator is equipped with a polythene tape used as carry handle, remove it before connecting appliance to the outlet.
- This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handle when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pil-lows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0,9 m) from the front and top of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
- Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
- Always unplug heater when not in use.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been drop-ped or damaged in any manner. If heater has leaked any oil, discontinue using the heater and contact the service center as indicated in the instruction leaflet. Return heater to authorized service facility for exa-mination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
- Do not use outdoors.
- This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor loca-tions. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
- Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or the like. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
- To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
- Connect to properly polarized outlets only.
- Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock, fire, or damage the heater.
- To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
- A heater has hot or arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
- Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- To prevent overload and blown fuses, be sure that no other appliance is plugged into the same outlet (receptacle) or into another outlet (receptacle) wired into the same circuit.
- It is normal for the heater’s plug and cord to feel warm to the touch. A plug or cord which becomes hot to the touch or becomes distorted in shape may be a result of a worn electrical outlet. Worn outlets or receptacles should be replaced prior to further use of the heater. Plugging heater into a worn outlet /receptacle/ may result in overheating of the power cord or fire.
- Do not use an extension cord because it may overheat and cause a risk of fire. However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord shall be No. 1 4 AWG minimum size and rated not less than 1875 watts, and has to be used only for supplying power to this heater.
- Be sure that the plug is fully inserted into an appropriate outlet. Please remember that outlets also deterio-rate due to aging and continuous use: check periodically if signs overheating or deformations are evi-denced by the plug. Do not use the outlet and CALL your electrician.
- Check that neither the appliance nor the power cable have been damaged in any way during transportation.
- Make sure that no pieces of polystyrene or other packaging material have been left between one element of the appliance and another. It may be necessary to pass over the appliance with a vacuum cleaner.
- When switching on the appliance for the first time, allow it to run at full power for about two hours to get rid of the unpleasant smell Make sure that the room in which the appliance is located is well ventilated during this operation. It is normal for the appliance to emit small cracking sounds when you turn it on for the first time.
- Do not cover the appliance while it is functioning in order to avoid overheating with the attendant risk of fire.
HOW TO USE YOUR HEATER
FITTING THE WHEELS (“EASY WHEEL”SYSTEM) Turn the radiator upside-down on a rug or a soft surface in order to prevent damaging the paint finish. Fully unfold the castors by turning them outwards (Fig. 1).
Turn the radiator back to its upright position.
CAUTION
Always operate the heater in the upright position only (wheels on the bottom, controls on top). Any other position could create hazardous situation!
With pilot lights ON, the heater is ON!
WATTS ECONOMIZER
For more economical use, the two switches may be used individually, after unit has reached the operating temperature
- button in position «l» = minimum power (indi-cator light on);
- button in position «ll» = intermediate power (indicator light on);
- both buttons in position «l» «ll» = maximum power (indicator lights on)
LOCATION
Place heater on the floor beneath the coldest window in the room, or any other location. Your hea-ter will reduce the effect of cold drafts. The heater should not be placed immediately below a power outlet. Do not use this radiator in rooms with a floor area of less than 43 square feet (4 sq. m.).
CONNECTION
The radiator should be connected to a properly polarized A/C 120 V household outlet in perfect working conditions. Keep loose clothing or bedding, furniture and flammable material away from the heater’s wall outlet.
TURNING ON
Turn the thermostat clockwise to its maximum position. Push down both switches. The switch lights stay on independently of the thermostat cycling. When room reaches the desired temperature, turn the thermostat knob counter-clockwise very slowly and carefully until you hear a click. This should set your heater to maintain the desired temperature by cycling on and off as required.
USE OF THERMOSTAT
The thermostat operates according to room air temperature, rather than radiator temperature. Turning it counter-clockwise to smaller numbers would decrease the temperature; clockwise to greater numbers would increase the temperature.
Antifreeze function
Turn the thermostat dial to the position and push the switches on. The appliance will maintain a minimum room temperature of approximately 42°F (5°C), thus preventing freezing while conser-ving energy.
REMINDER
To completely shut the heater off, ON/OFF switches must be set in the OFF position.
COMFORTEMP FUNCTION
With the two switches and the COMFORTEMP button depressed, the appliance is automatically set to reach and keep the sugge-sted ideal temperature. When the mode COMFORTEMP is on, the relevant green pilot light is on. To depress the COMFORTEMP function and return to manual functioning, depress the COMFOR-TEMP button once again.
A safety device switches the heater off in the event of everhea-ting. To restart the heater, call the nearest Service center.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
Always unplug the heater from the power outlet and allow the radiator to cool. Wipe radiator with a soft damp cloth; do not use detergents and abrasives. Should the radiator not be in use over a certain length of time, roll the cable around the holder and store it in a dry place (see fig. on front page).
This appliance has been built to last for many years of trouble-free service. In case of malfunction or doubt, do not try to repair the heater by yourself: this might increase the risk of fire and elec-tric shock. Your product is equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). There is only one way it can be plugged into a power supply. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try again by turning it the other way. If it would still not go in, it is probably due to an obsolete outlet which should be replaced. Do not temper with the plug or outlet to defeat the purpose of this safety mechanism.

This warranty applies to all products with De’Longhi or Kenwood brand names.
What does the warranty cover?
We warrant each appliance to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Our obli-gation under this warranty is limited to repair at our factory or authorized service center of any defective parts or part thereof, other than parts damaged in transit. In the event of a products replacement or return, the unit must be returned transportation prepaid. The repai-red or new model will be returned at the company expense.
This warranty shall apply only if the appliance is used in accordance with the factory direc-tions, which accompany it, and on an Alternating current ( AC ) circuit.
How long does the coverage last?
This warranty runs for one year (1) from the purchase date found on your receipt and applies only to the original purchaser for use.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover defects or damage of the appliance, which result from repairs or alterations to the appliance outside our factory or authorized service centers, nor shall it apply to any appliance, which has been subject to abuse, misuse, negligence or accidents. Also, consequential and incidental damage resulting from the use of this product or arising out of any breach of contract or breach of this warranty are not recoverable under this war-ranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damage, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

I’ve had my Delonghi radiant heater for 10 years. I use it in my home office and keep it on 24/7. Only time I shut it off is if we are out of the house on a vacation. My office can be cold year round, in the winter because of outside temp, in summer because the air conditioner used to cool our main level to 80 degrees, freezes out our basement level which is where my office is. I love that I can walk into my office at anytime and it is a reasonable temp. No noise, quiet heat.
Depends of how much you use it. On high setting it consume 1500W. If it runs on high 24 hours a day, that is about $5/day for 14cents/kW/hr. However, you probably wouldn’t use it on high all day plus it has a thermostat meaning that it will shutdown occasionally even at the highest setting. At our house we use these to maintain the temperature in our bedrooms at about 72F during Chicago nights. I keep it at Min setting (700W) and the thermostat at 3. It comes on every hour or so for a few minutes a shuts off.
This is totally dependent on your home electrical layout. Find the breaker that feeds the outlet you will plug this into. Turn off the breaker. What else turns off? If you have dedicated 15 or 20 amp breakers for each room of your home, you’re probably going to be fine. But if you are in a house that has 1 15 amp breaker covering 3 or 4 rooms and you run this heater on high along side another heater, and a hair dryer, it will blow the breaker. I have run this on a 15 amp circuit along with a large plasma TV and home theater system, 2 computers, and a heated blanket. If I run the heater on high, it will blow the breaker.
This is an important point to consider. It was my deal breaker that lead to sending it back. You cannot set it to a specific temperature, say 70, or 65, etc. According to the instructions, you turn it on and turn the temperature control all the way up. Then you monitor the room temperature. Once the room reaches the desired temperature, you slowly turn the temperature control down until you hear it click. That means it’s at the desired temperature and will maintain there.
I am not sure what your fuel source is for radiant heat (electric, natural gas, LP, etc.), so it is hard to compare what is more or less expensive. In terms of electric heaters that will work on a standard 115VAC circuit, this is a pretty good one. At one point, the gas valve went out on our furnace heater during the winter. It was over a week before the repairman come. Two of these, along with a portable electric ceramic radiant heater, heated our entire house. Also, this has safety systems on it that are pretty good. I have also used it to keep our garage above freezing level during the winter. It has one setting just to do that and it runs on relatively low power. For the money, it’s a good heater. We own two
Square footage can be misleading. The height of the ceiling and air movement in the room have a big impact on apparent heating. High ceilings and little air movement will reduce the effectiveness of the heater. I use two of these to heat my 800 sqft basement (no other heat source but the plasma tv). I have a ceiling fan that I reverse the direction to blow up instead of down and keep it on the low setting. The two heaters keep the room at a comfortable 68 – 70 degrees on a 2/3 heat setting.
We use it for small bedroom about 150 sq. feet – heats up very well. Bigger rooms would be just as fine – I would say up to 300 feet.
It’s irrelevant. Electric heaters are 100% efficient by nature. If you don’t want to use a lot of electricity, turn the temp down. There is no other electric heater that is going to work differently as far as efficiency is concerned. If an electric heater has an “energy star” label on it, it’s just a marketing scheme.
According the description on the Amazon product page, the comfortemp keeps the temp around 68-70 degrees. Therefore yes when the temp gets to that point the heater will turn off, then it will turn on again when it gets too cold again – that’s how any thermostat works. Since there’s no explanation anywhere of how or if comfortemp works with the thermostat dial, I just keep comfortemp off and only use the dial; it will do the same thing, it just takes a bit of tweaking to find the right temp since the dial isn’t marked with temperatures.
It is perfect for wooden or carpeted floors. Very safe heater.
Oil filled radiator heaters have a very safe reputation, but no guarantees. Anything can fail, so buy/check insurance. I have used one for years for the same purpose in my garage without a problem (left on for months). Avoid the digital heaters — the ones I have tried turn off and stay off after a power failure thus your cabin would then freeze.
I have two of these. I leave them on most of the winter. One is in a stand alone building where I keep motorcycles and the other is in my basement office. I do not worry about them staying on for months at a time.

I would suggest following the manufacturer’s instructions in the owners manual. The plug is not polarized it will plug in to the wall. I would not because this unit gets warm. Follow the manuals instructions there is a 800 number you can call and present this question directly to them. Good luck this product is very good
I am not sure what the area it will heat is but I use it in a 12X14 ft room and it keeps it comfortable. You would have to determine what is comfortable for you as you can set it at different temperatures and the amount of energy is needs to keep it at that temp. I keep it at the lowest energy setting which I believe is 600 watts.
