HOW TO USE THIS DOCUMENT
This document is part of the RF remote control display. In this document the RF remote control display is also referred to as ‘display’. It is intended for use by end users and professional installers. Make sure you have read and understood this document before using or installing the display.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DISPLAY

USE
The display is a user and installation interface to monitor and configure the connected ventilation unit (of the type 225 Compact(LEH)) with the heat recovery unit (HRV). Any other use of the display is not in accordance with the intended use and therefore unauthorised.
FUNCTIONING
The display drives and monitors one HRV unit. This HRV unit ensures good indoor air quality by varying the ventilator speed. The display uses wireless communication (RF) to communicate with the HRV unit.
Use the capacitive touch buttons on the display to adjust the settings of the HRV unit. The LCD (liquid crystal display) indicates the current ventilation position of the HRV unit. Any malfunction or problem with the HRV unit is indicated on the screen.
OVERVIEW
The display, with dimensions …, is equipped with an interface consisting of five capacitive buttons and a screen.
CAPACITIVE BUTTONS

B PLUS button: Press to increase the number or value on the screen.
C MINUS button: Press to decrease the number or value on the screen.

HOME SCREEN
The home screen displays the current status of the HRV unit: current ventilation position, bypass position and active/inactive state of the week program. If an error occurs in the HRV unit the error indicator is displayed together with the current error code.

COMMISSIONING

ELECTRIC CONNECTION
PREPARATION
VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol Make sure the mains power is turned off before installing the display. Never install the display in a metal housing. Use a supply voltage of 230VAC, 50Hz.

CONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY
VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 1 Use cables of the type AWG12-24, 0.2-2.5mm² as the power cable.

Connect N to ground, or the blue cable of the mains power.
Step 2
Connect L to phase, or the brown cable of the mains power.
MOUNTING
VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 1 To mount the display use hardened and galvanised screws 2.2 x 12 PT10 or M2.2 x 12 with crosshead.VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - MOUNTINGStep 1:
Mount the frame (F) on the junction box (G). Be sure to use the proper screws (E).
Step 2:
Pull the power cable from the wall and through the design frame (D).
Step 3:
Connect the power cable with the display (C). Connection see “Electric connection”.
Step 4:
Mount the display (C) onto the frame (F) with the included screws. Make sure the design frame (D) is positioned between the display (C) and the frame (F).
Step 5:
Click the finishing cover (A) onto the display (C).
DAMAGE
If any part of the display is damaged or if certain parts are missing, the display must be disconnected from the power source.
CONNECTION WITH HRV UNIT
COMMISSIONING
When the display is first commissioned, it will immediately go into connection mode upon start-up. The correct sequence of actions is as follows:
Step 1: Connection mode
Put the HRV unit in question in connection mode. Do this by briefly disconnecting the HRV unit from power (±10 sec.). Subsequently restore power to the HRV unit. You now have 10 minutes to connect up to 20 wireless switches.

All icons on the display are now displayed for 3 seconds. Subsequently the software version is displayed in the bottom right corner.
The display should automatically start in connection mode. This is visualised on the display by the wireless communication icon.
Step 3: Start connection
Press the OK  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 button to search for an HRV unit and initiate the connection procedure.
Step 4: Successful connection
The display has been successfully connected with the HRV unit when the screen displays “bnd”.
The display will automatically switch to the home screen.

Step 5: Failed connection
The display failed to connect with the HRV unit when the screen displays “no bnd” and the errror indicator appears.

If the display has to be connected with an HRV unit again after initial use then go through the following steps:

Access the installation menu by holding down the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button for 10 seconds.
Step 2:
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 1x to navigate to the connection menu.
Step 3:
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the menu and then press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button again to initiate the connection procedure.

Step 4: Successful connection
The display has been successfully connected with the HRV unit when the screen displays “bnd”. The display will automatically switch to the home screen.VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Successful connectionStep 5: Failed connection
The display failed to connect with the HRV unit when the screen displays “no bnd” and the errror indicator appears.

FUNCTIONING

BACKLIGHTING
The display has backlighting that comes on when the display is activated or when a button is operated.
The backlighting remains active for 60 sec. after operation of the display. This setting cannot be adjusted.
MANUAL OPERATION
The HRV unit can be set to 6 different positions.

If the HRV unit uses a week program the ventilation position can always be adjusted manually, as indicated by the blinking week program VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 14 icon.
With the next switching moment the HRV unit will resume operation in accordance with the set week program.VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - HRV unitCHANGING POSITION
The user can change positions by operating the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS button.

SETTING THE TYPE OF WEEK PROGRAM
WEEK PROGRAM

VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - SETTING THE TYPE OF WEEK PROGRAM Step 1:
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 2x from the home screen. The week program icon VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 17 is displayed.
Step 2:
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the week program menu.
Step 3:
Press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 1x to navigate to where you can set the week program.
Step 4:
Press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the setting.
There are 3 types of week programs:
1 1 set program for every day of the week
2 1 set program for all weekdays and another for the weekend.
3 1 set program for every separate day.
Toggle between the different week program types with the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons.
Step 5:
Select the type of your choice using the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button. Subsequently you must select the number of switching moments.
As standard there are 4 but you can also select 2 or 6 using the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons.

Select the desired number of switching moments and confirm by pressing the
VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
Step 7:
The display automatically returns to the week program menu.
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 22  BACK button to return to the home screen, or press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button to navigate to where you can set the switching moments or activate the week menu.

SETTING THE WEEK PROGRAM
When the type of week program and the number of switching moments for one day have been selected, the switching time and the corresponding ventilation position for these switching moments can be determined.

Press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 2x from the home screen. The week program icon VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 17 is displayed.
Step 2:
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the week program menu.
Step 3:
Press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 3x to navigate to where you can set the week program.
Step 4:
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the setting.
VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - SETTING THE WEEK PROGRAM 1 Step 5:
The selected week program is shown at the bottom of the display (1, 1 6, 1234567).
The first day is indicated.
The indication of the number of the switching moment for the selected day is blinking.
Step 6:
Change switching moments by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS or VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16MINUS button. When you come to the final switching moment of the day and you wish to proceed to the first switching moment of the next day, press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS button.
This also works the other way round: if you are at the first switching moment of the day and you press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16MINUS button, you will return to the final switching moment of the previous day. Selected the switching moment by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
Step 7:
Change the time by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons. The time can be set with 15-minute intervals. Confirm with the OK button. The icon of the ventilation position is blinking.
Step 8:
Change the ventilation position corresponding with the switching moment by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS or VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS button. Confirm the ventilation position by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
The number corresponding with the switching moment will blink again. Repeat steps 6-8 for all switching moments within the week program.
Step 9:
When all days have been set press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 22 BACK button 2x to return to the home screen.

ACTIVATING OR DEACTIVATING THE WEEK PROGRAM
Once the week program has been set it still needs to be activated. Do this by following the procedure below:

Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 2x from the home screen.
Step 2:
The week program icon is displayed. Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the week program menu.
Step 3:
The first available setting is activating or deactivating the week program. Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the setting.
Step 4:
Use the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MIN buttons to toggle between ON and OFF.
Step 5:
Select the desired action and confirm by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button. The display returns to the home screen.
If the week program is activated the corresponding icon is displayed in the top left corner of the display.

HEAT RECOVERY (BYPASS)

The HRV unit has a bypass function that prevents heat recovery under certain conditions in order to blow cooler outdoor air during summer (free cooling) or warmer outdoor air during the transitional season (free heating) directly into the supply rooms. You can use the display to manually operate this bypass.
Access the menu by following these steps:

Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 1x from the home screen.
Step 2:
The heat recovery icon is displayed. Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the heat recovery menu.
Step 3:
As standard this function is set to AUTO.
This means the bypass function is performed automatically based on the parameters set for
the HRV unit.
Select the required mode by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS or VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS button.
Step 4:
After selecting the required mode press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to activate this mode and return to the home screen.

Access the menu by following these steps:

Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 3x from the home screen.
Step 2:
The icon for the sensor values is displayed.
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the sensor values menu.
Step 3:
Use the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MIN buttons to scroll between the various values.
Press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 22 BACK button to return to the home screen.

RESET DIRTY FILTER NOTIFICATION
ATTENTION
The menu to be able to reset the dirty filter notification is only accessible when the dirty filter notification occcurs. Replace the filters before the notification is reset.
Access the menu by following these steps:

Press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 5x from the home screen.
Step 2:
The dirty filter notification icon is displayed.
Press the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the dirty filter notification menu.
Step 3:
The display will send a signal to the HRV unit to reset the notification.
During the reset the hourglass icon of the timer position is shown. The display automatically returns to the home screen.

DATE AND TIME

ATTENTION
VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol The HRV unit has a preprogrammed date and time that is copied by the display following connection.
VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 1 If necessary date and time can be adjusted using the display, for example to switch between daylight saving time and standard time.
Access the menu by following these steps:

Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button 4x from the home screen.
Step 2:
The icon for the date and time setting is displayed. Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the date and time setting menu.
Step 3:
YEAR
Adjust with the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons. Confirm with the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
MONTH
Adjust with the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons. Confirm with the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
DAY
Adjust with the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons. Remark: the day of the week is adjusted automatically with the changing of the date. Confirm with the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
HOUR
Adjust the hours with the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons. Confirm with the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
MINUTES
Adjust the minutes with the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS and  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS buttons. Confirm with the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.

INSTALLER SETTINGS

These actions can only be performed by a professional installer.
Incorrect modifications may result in the HRV unit not functioning correctly.

Access the installation menu by holding down the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button for 10 seconds.
Step 2:
Press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button to open the parameters to be set.
Step 3:
Navigate between parameters by pressing the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS or  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS button.
To select a parameter, press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
The corresponding value will blink. Change the value by pressing the  VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 15 PLUS or VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 16 MINUS button. Confirm the displayed value with the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 12 OK button.
Step 4:
To return to the home screen press the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 22 BACK button.

RESET TO DEFAULT SETTINGS

BACKLIGHTING

Resetting to factory settings means that the following actions will be carried out:

  • Parameters to be set return to their default value
  • Set week program is erased
  • The display is disconnected from the HRV unit

After resetting the display starts up again in connection mode, as when the device is first brought into service.
Resetting to default settings goes as follows:

Access the installation menu by holding down the VASCO 9001 RF Remote Control Display - Symbol 13 MENU button for 10 seconds.
Step 2:
Press the  MINUS button for 10 seconds.
