The Double Cardan front driveshaft is designed for use in vehicles to improve drivetrain performance and durability. It includes an adapter for easy installation on the transfer case side.

Product Usage Instructions

Drive Shaft Removal

  1. Place the vehicle on a lift.
  2. Remove the front driveshaft from both ends using two wrenches to loosen the 13mm nuts and bolts.
  3. Unbolt the output flange on the transfer case side.

Adapter Installation

  1. Bolt the euros adapter to the output flange using the supplied hardware.
  2. Torque the bolts with locking nuts to 35 ft-lbs.

Reinstallation

  1. Reinstall the adapter with the output flange back onto the transmission and torque the bolt to 140 ft-lbs.
  2. Install the driveshaft with the double Cardan joint on the transfer case side of the vehicle and torque the Allen bolts to 55 ft-lbs.

Front Spacer Installation

  1. Install the front spacer to the front axle on the vehicle and torque the Allen bolts to 35 ft-lbs.
  2. Install the driveshaft and secure with larger M12 Allen bolts provided, torquing to 55 ft-lbs.

Double Cardan front driveshaft installation

  • Place the vehicle on a lift and remove the front driveshaft from both ends.
  • 13mm nuts and bolts are used to hold one front and rearward of the driveshaft on. You will need two wrenches to remove

  • The transfer case side

  • Once the driveshaft is removed you will unbolt the output flange on the transfer case.

  • You will not lose any fluid. You now need to remove the flange and bolt the euros adapter to the flange using supplied hardware.

  • Torque bolts with the locking nuts supplied to 35ft lbs

  • Reinstall the adapter with the output flange back onto the transmission. Torque the bolt from the output flange to the transmission 140ft lbs.
  • Now install the driveshaft with the double Cardan joint on the transfer case side of the vehicle. Torque 4 Allen bolts supplied to 55ft lbs.

  • Now install the front spacer to the front axle on the vehicle. Torque allen bolts to 35ft lbs.
  • Next, install the driveshaft and install the larger M12 allen bolts provided. Torque to 55ft lbs.

Here’s a list of part numbers for the common wear items for these shafts found at your local parts store

  • Universal joints (u-joints) are 1310 series. The most common part number for this size joint is a spicer part number 5-153X
  • The socket flange interchangeable part number is Neapco part number N2-83-388X
