Quick Setup

NOTE: Some devices may not be included if you did not order them.
- Connect the network cable (optional).
- Connect the modem (optional).
- Connect the monitor using only one of the following cables:
- a: The blue VGA cable.
- b: The white DVI cable.
- c: The VGA cable to the DVI adapter.
- a: The blue VGA cable.
- Connect the USB keyboard or mouse (optional).
- Connect the power cable(s).
- Press the power buttons on the monitor and the computer.

Control Lights and Diagnostic Lights
Power button light
- Solid blue light — indicates a power-on state.
- Blinking blue light — indicates the sleep state of the computer.
- Solid amber light (when the computer does not start) — indicates a problem with the system board or power supply.
- The blinking amber light — indicates a problem with the system board.
Drive activity light
- Displays the SATA hard drive or optical drive activity.
- Green Light — indicates that the computer is reading data from or writing data to the optical drive.
- Blue Light — indicates that the computer is reading data from or writing data to the hard drive
Network connectivity light (at the back of the computer)
- The green light — indicates that a good 10/100 Mbps connection exists between the network and the computer.
- Yellow light — indicates network activity.
- The orange light — indicates that a good 1000 Mbps connection exists between the network and the computer.
- Off (no light) — the computer is not detecting a physical connection to the network.
NOTE: Heat dissipation is calculated using the power supply wattage rating.

The Dell Vostro laptop series is well-designed and has the hallmark of a well-rounded product that caters to the user’s needs. It is built to be productive, reliable, and efficient. Equipped with Windows 10, the laptop display screen varies between 35 cm and 40 cm.
The Laptop has 2 (2 banks of 1) to install memory, already with 4GB standard memory installed.
An upgrade means adding memory modules along with the existing ones or replacing the old ones with a set of new modules with higher capacity. NOTE: The system memory (RAM) cannot be upgraded on certain Dell laptops because the system memory (RAM) is integrated into the system board.
On your laptop the processor is soldered to the motherboard, requiring extensive and expensive skills and equipment to remove and replace. The cost to do so would be prohibitive.
Resolution: Optimize your computer using SupportAssist. Restart the computer. Run a hardware diagnostic test. Scan your computer for malware. Restore the computer using Windows System Restore. Restore the computer to factory default settings.
