DESCRIPTION
The new Xbox Wireless Controller features a sleek, streamlined design and textured grip for improved comfort and feel. Using the 3.5mm stereo headset jack, connect any compatible headset. You can also play your favorite games on Windows 10 PCs and tablets via a USB cable.
HOW TO USE ON PC
In your system tray, right-click the Bluetooth icon. “Add a Bluetooth Device” will appear. Select Bluetooth from the “Add Bluetooth or other Device” menu. “Xbox Wireless Controller” will appear. Wait until the Guide button turns solid white and the Bluetooth menu indicates that the controller has been connected.
HOW TO CONNECT WIRED CONTROLLER
A micro-USB cable or a USB-C cable is the simplest way to connect your Xbox controller and PC. Simply connect the slim end to your Xbox controller and the other end to a USB port on your computer.
HOW TO UPDATE
If the installation instructions do not appear automatically, you can begin the process manually. To do so, open the guide by pressing the Xbox button, then select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories, and then select the controller you want to update.
HOW TO CLEAN
Use a soft cloth dampened with a 70% or less isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution. Disinfectant wipes should not be used. Use any of the disinfectant wipes listed above, or a soft cloth dampened with an IPA solution 70% or less.

Does this work with my Mac?
No, this is only for Windows PCs.
Do I need to install any software to make this work on my PC?
No software is required to make this work on your PC; just plug in the micro USB cable and go! However, if you want to configure some extra buttons or adjust sensitivity settings you’ll need to install Microsoft’s official Xbox 360 Controller driver/software (available here ). If you’re using a Mac, you’ll need to download Apple’s Boot Camp Assistant and then follow Apple’s instructions on how to set up Boot Camp on your Mac (see here ). Once you’ve installed Boot Camp you’ll need to download Microsoft’s official Xbox 360 Controller driver/software (available here ) in order to configure some extra buttons or adjust sensitivity settings on your Mac (don’t worry – it works just like it does on Windows). Note that if you’re using Boot Camp there are some limitations – see below for more details about what works and what doesn’t work when using Boot Camp on your Mac.
Can this controller be connected to a windows 10 PC via Bluetooth or does it have to have a wired connection ?
I heard there can be a noticeable delay when using Bluetooth but maybe this was a while ago and it has improved.
Can the cable be used to charge the controller?
Enmanuel is clearly a PS4 owner. The option of having rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries is a plus with a controller that literally has every capability the PS4 controller has. If you have rechargeable batteries yes you can charge your controller with the USB cable. If your batteries die and you don’t feel like being tethered to the cable, you have the option to swap in non-rechargeable batteries and continue playing wirelessly. This is a good design.
Does this controller have a headphone jack
Yes, the Xbox Controller + Cable for Windows has a 3.5mm stereo headset jack.
Is this controller compatible with Steam games ?
It depends on the game. If the game details mention full or partial controller support then it should work. It’s also worth checking the community forums sometimes as people have created input mods for some popular games without support that allow you to use an Xbox controller.
Does this work on pc?
Yes, the Xbox Controller + Cable for Windows PC is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.
Does this have Bluetooth like its wireless counterpart?
Yes, it does.
Is this the Xbox one’s controller version and comes with Bluetooth?
Yes, it will connect to the PC over Bluetooth; though I found the controller listed under mouse instead of Xbox One Controllers. So the unit works over Bluetooth and comes with a USB transceiver as well as a set of batteries.
Do you need to have batteries installed if you plan on just plugging in direct to my PC?
You do not, however, if it gets unplugged it will turn off instead of using battery backup.
