FAQS

Does this unit auto-reconnect bt constantly? logitech does this and i becomes a big annoyance.

Actually, if you choose to disconnect the device last time, it will NOT reconnect automatically; if you just power it off or go away, it will reconnect as soon as you resume the power or come back within the range

Does it do aptx?

No, it dose NOT support aptx

Can I connect to wired receiver surround sound system to play music w iPhone?

As long as it has aux in should not be a problem. I connected mine to a Bose wave radio and works great.

When plugged in, is this device “always on”? Or does it “time out” when not in use?

It is always on

How many hours does battery last?

The HA100 is not battery operated; it comes with a power adapter that must be plugged into a power source.

Anyone know how I can rename the device name? I have two in my household and devices constantly send them to the wrong receiver they are 1 floor apart

Typically you can rename them in your phone Bluetooth Devices menu. Just be sure to shut off both BT devices, then only turn on the one you want to rename. I have done renaming with my Samsung S7 Edge Android. There is a settings “gear” next to the TP-Link name in the “Available Devices” menu. Open up that setting menu and there will be a box “Rename Device”.

How well does it work with Amazon Dot?

There is only one Dot issue and it may not apply to all user. When you play a Music Group (multiple Echo devices in a home for whole house audio), the Dots and/or Echos in that group use Bluetooth to link up and therefore, the sound only comes out of the Dot or Echo when that happens. The speaker you are linked to is then cut off and no longer plays sound from the Dot.
When you just play one Dot or Echo to this device, it works fine.
This is more an Amazon flaw and less a TP-Link problem. The only work around is to hook a Dot with a speaker up using 3.5 mm minijack AUX cable to each other directly. But, be aware that when you turn off the speaker, you no longer can hear the Dot until you unplug the minijack cable from it.With a Bluetooth device like this one, that is not the case. If the speaker this is attached to has a sleep mode and turns off, the Dot goes back to ITS speaker. Making it still entirely usable.

Does it automatically turn on and connect to my phone if i have this plugged in my car via USB when I turn on the car’s ignition?

Yes, it does automatically turn on and reconnect to your phone if you have ever paired your phone to it and didn’t disconnect to it at the last time. It is because of its no battery and no button design. And it will also automatically turn off when you stop the engine.

Can I use it on my Android phone to play the phone downloaded music while in the car?

It does work with android and if you car stereo has an aux input yes will work. USB power will also be needed.

Will this work in Japan?

It works globally as it doesn’t need a separate power source.

does this work with tv?

This is designed to receive audio signal (left and right) from a Bluetooth device creating the signal.

Does anyone have the exact model info of the included US power supply?

The cord that comes with it is a micro USB and is pretty standard. There is no included brick-type power supply as would plug directly
into a 110 outlet.

Can I set a Passcode? I live in a townhouse and do not want others connecting to my device

That would be a question for T-lINK SUPPORT bust as far as I know, the only passcodes or passwords you use are on the devices yoc
onnect with the streaming device.

If i answer the call can i use still Bluetooth and a microphone on my phone in same time?

When the call comes in, this device will be paused. Your phone’s mic and speaker will be active during the call. If you have an active Bluetooth headset then calls will go the headset.

Does it insist on being connected when a device is in range?

Once you pair it, stays connected when audio is transmitted. Otherwise, it goes to standby.
