FLUSH MOUNT TWEETER MOUNTING

  1. Check for proper clearance: The flush mount kit is 1” (26mm) deep.
  2. Mark the center of the spot and cut a 2” (50.8mm) diameter hole using a hole saw, drill bit or razor knife.
  3. Assemble the cup, clamp and machine screw loosely as shown.
  4. Route wires through the round opening in the bottom of the cup.
  5. Press the assembly into the 2” (50.8mm) diameter hole until the clamp edge is below the mounting surface, then tighten the screw. The legs of the clamp can be bent outward by inserting a screwdriver through the holes in the cup while still mounted.
  6. Connect wires from the tweeter terminals of the Crossover to the tweeter itself using the faston connectors. Connect the red wire from the (+) terminal of the Crossover tweeter output to the red (+) wire from the tweeter.
  7. Mount the tweeter by snapping it into the mounting cup.

  2. Screw surface mount cup to the panel. 3. Push the tweeter wires through the open area at the bottom of the cup and through the 3/16” (5mm) hole in the panel.
  3. Connect wires from the tweeter terminals of the Crossover to the tweeter wires using fast on connectors. Be sure to connect the red wire strand from the tweeter to the (+) terminal of the crossover tweeter output.
  4. Mount the tweeter by snapping it into the mounting cup.

GETTING STARTED

Please inspect your loudspeakers carefully. Notify your Polk dealer if you notice any damage or missing items. Keep the carton and packing material; this will do the best job of protecting your loudspeakers if they must be transported.

Safe Limits of Operation

Damage to loudspeakers can occur when an amplifier, regardless of its wattage, is made to play at higher listening levels than it can produce at low distortion levels. This is usually beyond the “noon or 1 o’clock” position on the volume control. Operation at this level can result in very high levels of audible distortion originating in the amplifier, which can add a harsh, gritty sound to your listening material. Contrary to popular belief, a loudspeaker is more likely to be damaged by trying to get too much volume from a low-powered amplifier or receiver than from a high-powered one.

If, after following the hookup directions, you experience difficulty, please double-check all wire connections. FAQs

Do the speakers come with speaker grills?

Speakers do not come with grilles. Since they are in the dash speakers, the factory-installed dash of the automobile covers them. They were put inside my 2001 Jeep Wrangler. The sound quality is outstanding even without the Jeep’s top down.

What should the Polk Audio DB572 marine speaker possess?

You need a speaker system that sounds nice at high volume for marine applications. Investing in speakers for ships with higher sensitivity, toughness, and power handling is a good idea.

What are the functions of Polk Audio DB572 coaxial marine speakers?

A second tweeter is housed inside the woofer of two-way, or coaxial, speakers to handle the high frequencies and faithfully reproduce the audio spectrum of your music. For greater depth and realism, three-way, or triaxial, speakers combine a middle driver with a separate woofer and tweeter.

Need an amplifier for Polk Audio DB572 boat speakers?

Marine stereos frequently have amplification, some of which are quite powerful. Without an external amplifier, good sound can undoubtedly be produced. You can usually test your stereo without an amplifier before adding one because you can almost always do so later.

What distinguishes a Polk Audio DB572 boat speaker?

Marine speakers are the ones that are most appropriate for use near water. They are typically stronger as well as water-resistant. Marine speakers are constructed to endure the various exposures to moisture, environment, and weather.

Can Polk Audio DB572 marine speakers get wet?

Marine Rated or Marine Grade items can resist marine environments. Marine grade components may be exposed to wind, rain, and sunlight. Because they can survive high ambient temperatures, they won’t burn if any water is splashed on them.

How long do Polk Audio DB572 marine speakers last?

Marine speakers are those made specifically for use on boats. Careful testing ensures that they will withstand the elements.

The DB572 marine speakers from Polk Audio are made of what materials?

The construction of sea speakers uses robust materials to ensure their durability in the harsher marine environment. They are made of stainless steel and unique plastic materials to survive the elements and sudden temperature changes.

What is a Polk Audio DB572 two-way maritime speaker?

A second tweeter is housed inside the woofer of two-way, or coaxial, speakers to handle the high frequencies and faithfully reproduce the audio spectrum of your music. For greater depth and realism, three-way, or triaxial, speakers combine a middle driver with a separate woofer and tweeter.

Where do Polk Audio DB572 marine speakers go?

For the optimum sound quality, you should always install your full range speakers as high as you can. Do not mount them near your feet or underneath chairs. You should take into consideration placing speakers over your head on larger vessels and other locations where it is practical. On the other side, subwoofers are the exact opposite.

What situations might Polk Audio DB572 marine speakers be used in?

A number of speakers, amplifiers, and other devices make up the marine audio system, which is used to play music on boats.

Are the bass-friendly Polk Audio DB572 marine speakers?

The marine speaker produces a powerful full-range sound and has passable bass performance between 80 Hz and 20 kHz.

How reliable are Polk Audio DB572 Marine Speakers?

Most marine speakers are quite sturdy and lasting. Ensure that the speakers you purchase are of the highest calibre, durable against rust and corrosion, and well-built. For adequate weather protection, look for speakers with plastic cones, such as those with polypropylene and neoprene rubber surrounds.

How long do I need to charge my Polk Audio DB572 boat speaker?

It takes about 4 hours to fully charge a battery from empty.

Could the grilles be removed?

The grills and speakers are typically not connected. The grills can be used with the speaker individually and are available separately. With these, you have the choice of using or not using the grills, which are delivered in the box but are not in any way connected to the speaker.

Would these fit in a 2020 Street Glide Special with bagger lids and a location for 5×7 speakers?

They can be mounted in a variety of ways. Unlike your speaker lids, which are more compact, I was able to fit them in a road glide fairing.
