Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can you skip songs using just the speaker or does it have to be done with the device playing the songs?
You can use the speaker to control the volume and skip songs.
  • Can you use headphones?
Yes, it has an earphone jack. Contrary to what many believe here it is totally reasonable to ask this question. It is a music player as well as a speaker. Besides bluetoothing from other devices that don’t have headphone/earphone jacks, you can play music with a micro sd card and if you want private listening, to use the headphone/earphone jack. Why people don’t get the need or practicality of this.
  • Does this have a charger for the batteries?
There is a micro USB cable included in the box to charge the battery. And the cable can be connected to any of your own 5V 1A/5V 2.1A iPhone charger or Android charger, power bank, or computer. After fully charged it can play for around 8 hours- 16hours.
  • How water proof is this? i was thinking of using this as my deck speakers…so it will be exposed to rain a bit?
DOSS Traveler is a IP66 speaker, designed for outdoor and pool-side, better do not throw it into water. meaning the Speaker can withstand pressurized jets and waves of water.
  • Can you it outdoors for a party?
Yes, DOSS Traveler is loud enough for a party.
  • Can two speakers be paired for stereo sound?
That might be Adam…but, when you “pair”, or are able to connect two speakers, each speaker then becomes MONO, thereby producing a LEFT channel speaker, and a RIGHT channel speaker, producing stereo much better, and even at a louder sound, because you’re now using TWO SPEAKERS instead of one. Because you can now separate, or spread the two speakers apart, that are connected to each other, you get an even MORE stereo separation. That is why you want to look for a BT speaker that has the capability of connecting to another same BT speaker, if you want louder sound, increased separate stereo sound, with true left, and right stereo sound dedicated to EACH SPEAKER.
  • Is this speaker also compatible for pairing with a laptop?
Yes, you can connect our speaker via Bluetooth or Aux-IN.
  • If there is no bluetooth can this speaker connect via a cord?
Yes. I purchased mine for this very reason for use with my non-Bluetooth iPod Classic. A cord is supplied for connecting the 3.5mm output (headphone) jack of your device to the 3.5mm auxiliary input jack on the speaker. The supplied 3.5mm male plug to 3.5mm male plug cord is approximately 24″ and is plenty long for this purpose.
  • How Is This Set Up?
It took 2 seconds to set up and the sound is crazy awesome. Better than the Sony I replaced.
  • Will this work for a TV speaker?
I really do not think so unless your tv has blue tooth capacity. You would then have to see if they will pare up.
  • I’ve lost the long strap, how much would it cost if I want a replacement?
I lost a fastening bolt, but I’ve yet to receive a response as to if I could get a replacement.
  • What size are the screws in the bottom?
They look like the screw bosses on the bottom of a camera, same size I believe, never used them for anything, but I spose it could be mounted on a tripod with them or something similar
