WHEN USING ELECTRICAL MACHINES, BASIC PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, AND INJURY TO PERSONS INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS MACHINE.

WARNING
THE MACHINE AND THE REMOTE CONTROL BOTH CONTAIN MAGNETS.

  1. Pacemakers and defibrillators may be affected by strong magnetic fields. If you or someone in your household has a pacemaker or defibrillator, avoid placing the remote control in a pocket or near to the device.
  2. Credit cards and electronic storage media may also be affected by magnets and should be kept away from the remote control and the top of the machine.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY:
  3. This Dyson machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction by a responsible person concerning the use of the machine to ensure that they can use it safely.
  4. Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine.
  5. Always plug this machine directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  6. This machine must not be located immediately below a socket outlet.
  7. If there is a loose fit between the plug and the outlet or the plug becomes very hot, the outlet may need to be replaced. Check with a qualified electrician to replace the outlet.
  8. CAUTION – Risk of electric shock, do not open the machine, and no user-serviceable parts inside.
  9. This machine is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. When moving the machine, hold it by the base and not the air loop amplifier. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the machine and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  10. This machine has hot parts inside. Do not use it in areas where petrol, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored or where their vapors are present.
  11. Extreme caution is necessary when any machine is used by or near children or infirm persons and whenever it is left operating and unattended.
  12. Do not operate any machine with a damaged cord or plug or after the machine malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard the machine, or return it to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
  13. Do not run the cord under the carpeting. Do not cover the cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route the cord under furniture or machines. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas and where it will not be tripped over.
  14. To avoid a tripping hazard, wind the cord when not in use.
  15. This machine is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, and similar indoor locations. Never locate the machine where it may fall into a bathtub or other water containers. Do not store this machine in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower, or swimming pool.
  16. WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the machine.
  17. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhausts in any manner. Do not use it on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  18. Use this machine only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  19. Do not use this machine if it has been dropped or if it has visible signs of damage.
  20. Always use this appliance on a horizontal and stable surface.
  21. Do not use it outdoors or on wet surfaces and do not handle any part of the machine or plug with wet hands.
  22. Keep this machine and cord away from heated surfaces. Do not position the cord under the furniture or machines.
  23. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  24. Do not use this machine if it has been damaged or submerged in water.
  25. Do not put any objects into any opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or may damage the machine.
  26. Disconnect power or unplug before cleaning, performing any maintenance or replacing a filter. Always unplug the machine when not in use.
  27. Chemical Burn and Choking Hazard. Keep batteries away from children. This product contains a lithium button/coin cell battery. If a new or used lithium button/coin cell battery is swallowed or enters the body, it can cause severe internal burns and can lead to death in as little as 2 hours. Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention. Even used batteries may cause injury. POLARIZATION INSTRUCTIONS
  28. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this machine has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a safety feature. This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature and do not change the plug in any way.

If the machine has been in use, leave it for 1 to 2 hours before replacing the filter unit to allow the machine to cool down completely. Your Dyson machine is programmed to remind you to replace the filter unit after 12 months based on 12 hours of usage a day. Please note that your indicator will activate sooner with more use. The indicator is only a guide. Use in heavily polluted environments may require the filter unit to be replaced more regularly.
