Other Consumer Safety Information

This appliance is intended for household use only.

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard
This appliance is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.

The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.

This appliance is equipped with a fully tempered safety glass door. The tempered glass is four times stronger than ordinary glass and more resistant to breakage. Tempered glass can break; however, it breaks into pieces with no sharp edges. Care must be taken to avoid scratching the door surface or nicking edges. If the door has a scratch or nick, call our toll-free customer service number.

When heavy foods are on the oven rack, do not pull the oven rack out more than halfway. To baste or check for doneness, remove food from the oven and place it on a heat-resistant countertop surface or trivet.

Do not place baking pan directly on heat shields that protect lower heating elements. To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit as this appliance.

How to Bake or Broil (cont.)

Baking Tips

  • Most foods should be baked according to package or recipe directions. Watch carefully and adjust the time or temperature if needed.
  • To reheat pizza, never place the box in the oven. Cook at 450ºF (232ºC) for 3 minutes or until ready.
  • For pizza, cook frozen or refrigerated pizza directly on an oven rack.
  • For the homemade crust, pizza (or any soft dough), cook pizza on a baking pan.
  • For baked potato, bake directly on an oven rack at 400ºF (204ºC) for 1 hour.
  • For toaster pastry, heat directly on the oven rack. If the pastry has a filling, glaze, or frosting, use a baking pan.
  • Remove food immediately or heat remaining in the toaster oven will continue to bake and dry out your food.

Care and Cleaning

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard.

  • Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts.
  • Your 2-in-1 Oven & Toaster should be cleaned regularly for the best performance and long life.

Regular cleaning will also reduce the risk of fire hazards.

  1. Unplug and allow to cool.
  2. Wash the oven rack, baking pan, and slide-out removable crumb tray in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Slide the crumb tray into the crumb tray opening.
  4. To clean the inside of an oven, wipe the oven walls, bottom of the oven, and glass door with a damp, soapy cloth. Repeat with a damp, clean cloth and dry.
  5. Wipe the outside of the oven with a soft damp cloth and dry.

Troubleshooting

The oven will not heat.

  • Check to make sure the electrical outlet is working and the oven is plugged in. Rotate the temperature knob to the desired temperature setting.
  • Make sure the mode selector is set to OVEN.

Moisture forms on the inside of the oven door when toasting.

  • This is normal when toasting in a toaster oven. Moisture is slower to escape from a toaster oven than from a toaster. The amount
of moisture will differ between fresh bread, bagels, and frozen pastries.

An odor and smoke comes from oven

  • Smoke and odor are normal during the first use of most heating appliances. This will not be present after the initial heating period.

Some foods burn and some are not done.

  • Adjust oven temperature or cooking time for best results with your recipes.

Bread, bagel, or English muffin didn’t toast as expected.

  • Toasting is affected by the temperature of the bread. Room-temperature bread may toast to a medium color on the medium setting. The same type of bread that has been refrigerated may require a darker setting to reach a medium color.
  • The moisture content will also affect toasting. Fresh bagels, made locally, will have a higher moisture content than bagels purchased in the bread section of the supermarket. A second, shorter toasting cycle may be needed to reach desired brownness. Fresh bagels made locally may require two toasting cycles.
  • Because of the irregular surface of English muffins, they may require more than one toasting cycle. After toasting for one cycle on the darkest setting, if a darker shade is desired, adjust shade selector to a lighter setting and toast for a second cycle. Watch closely to avoid overbrowning. English muffins cut with a knife toast more evenly than English muffins split with a fork.

Food is wedged in the toaster slot

  • If food becomes jammed, the toaster will automatically shut off at the end of the toasting cycle. Unplug the toaster and let cool. Turn toaster upside down and shake. Do not use fork or other utensil that could damage heating element or result in risk of fire or electrical shock.
