Traffic Rules

  • ALWAYS obey all applicable local and national laws and regulations while riding.
  • DO NOT allow use by children or persons unfamiliar with this bicycle or these instructions. Do not ride this bicycle while you are tired or under the influence of drugs or medication.
  • It is advisable to equip your bicycle with a warning device such as a horn, bell, or light in case you are riding at times of poor visibility. This is even required in some jurisdictions.
  • ALWAYS be alert for people, animals, or any obstacles that may appear in front of you while riding your bicycle. Also be careful of passing parked cars, whose doors might open suddenly. It is advisable to install warning devices to draw their attention, but always be ready to turn safely out of their way if needed.
  • Be careful at road and rail crossings. Slow down and check both ways for oncoming traffic.

Weather and Clothing

  • In wet weather, be careful to avoid sharp turns, which are easy to cause an accidental fall.
  • We DO NOT recommend riding your bicycle at night. If you have an emergency that makes it necessary to ride at night, be sure to have proper lights and reflectors. DO NOT ride at night without lights or reflectors.
  • ALWAYS wear a helmet and other required protective gear that meet safety standards when riding.
  • DO NOT wear loose footwear or clothing that may become caught in the wheels or any other moving parts.

Safety Checks

  • Check whether the brakes are positioned properly before riding.
  • Regularly check the light(s) and reflectors to make sure that they are clean, straight, unbroken, and securely mounted. Riding with low light or without lights or reflectors is extremely dangerous.
  • Regularly check whether all fasteners and components are intact and securely tightened.
  • If any part does not operate properly, discontinue use until its replacement.
  • Replace worn or broken parts immediately, especially bent or broken spokes and bent or damaged wheel rims. Never replace any parts with nonidentical ones.

Sensible Use

  • DO NOT push backward on the pedals when using the shifting system. Otherwise, the chain may get stuck, causing serious damage to the bike.
  • Be mindful of your speed. Ensure you have sufficient room to brake in an emergency.
  • Allow more distance for braking when riding through leaves, loose gravel, or other debris as these can also affect the stopping power of your brakes.
  • DO NOT carry packages or objects on your bicycle in a way that obstructs your view of the road.

Testing the Tires

The inner tubes of a brand-new bike may be sandwiched between the rims and outer covers of tires. If you are riding the bike for the first time, make sure that you don’t see any inner tube outside before you inflate them.

Tips

  • When riding at high speed for the first time, do so on level ground and test the braking system to make sure all fasteners are firmly tightened. Use protective paint to replace any wear or damage to your bike’s coat, especially if you live in areas of high humidity.
  • Regular maintenance will extend the bike’s life. Check and ensure all screws, bolts, and parts hold firmly after the first 30 days.

Maintenance

  • Check the parts of the bicycle for any looseness, stiffness, wear, or damage after each use. Tighten, lubricate, repair, or replace any problematic parts before further use. Only replace components of this bicycle and its accessories with identical parts.
  • The exterior of the bicycle can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. Do not use harsh abrasives or caustic chemicals.
  • If the bicycle will not be used for an extended period, store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and inaccessible to children.
