NOTE: 

  • The components included in the box may differ depending on your country.
  • The available connection interfaces vary depending on the model.
  • Interface cables are not included. You must purchase the correct interface cable if you require one.
    USB cable
    We recommend using a USB 2.0 cable (Type A/B) that is no more than 2 meters long.
    Network cable
    Use a straight-through Category 5 (or greater) twisted-pair cable.

Secure Network Access

Your machine’s default password is on the label on the back of the machine (preceded byPwd”). We strongly recommend you change it to protect your machine from unauthorized access.

Assembling

  1. Remove the packing materials and install the drum unit and toner cartridge assemblyBrother-DCP-L2510D-Multifunction-Printer-fig-3

  4. Select your country/language (Initial setup only)
    After turning the machine on, you may be required to set your country or language (depending on your machine). If required, follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Select your language (if needed)
    (for DCP models)
    • a. Press Menu.
    • b. Press ▲ or ▼ to display [Initial Setup], and then press OK.
    • c. Press ▲ or ▼ to display [Local Language], and then press OK. (for MFC models) Press Menu, 0, 0.
    • Press ▲ or ▼ select your language, and then press OK.
    • Press Stop/Exit.
  6. Select a device to connect to your machine

Put the installation disc into your CD/DVD drive, or download the Full Driver & Software Package at:

If you are using a recently released operating system on your computer, visit the above websites for an updated driver and software information.

Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts.

  • For Windows®: If the Brother screen does not appear automatically, go to Computer (This PC). Double-click the CD/DVD-ROM icon, and then double-click start.exe.
  • For Mac: For full driver functionality, we recommend choosing the CUPS driver when adding a printer.

Alternative wireless setup (Wireless models only) Find your SSID (Network Name) and Network Key (Password) on your wireless access point/router and write them in the table provided below.

To select each menu option, press ▲ or ▼, and then press OK to confirm. Select [Network] > [WLAN] > [Setup Wizard], and then press ▲.

If you cannot find this information, ask your network administrator or wireless access point/router manufacturer.

If the setup is not successful, restart your Brother machine and your wireless access point/router, and repeat.

Print or scan using your mobile device

Your mobile device must be connected to the same wireless network as your Brother machine.

How can I tell how many prints my Brother printer has?

Press the + or – button until INFORMATION mode appears. Press the Set button, and then press the + or – button until PAGE COUNTER appears. Press the Set button, and then check how many pages the printer has printed.

What type of printer is Brother DCP?

The Brother DCP printers, just like all the MFC, are all all-in-one printers. The difference with the MFC series is that the DCP printers are suitable for intensive use. The printer definitely is at home in a large office.

Is Brother DCP a color printer?

Do Brother printers have memory?

What is the lifespan of a Brother printer?

The average lifespan of a printer is around 3-5 years. With proper upkeep and maintenance, some printers can last longer, but eventually, your machine will need an upgrade.

What causes Brother printer to go offline?

Your Brother Printer could be listed as “Offline” because it is not turned on, it has errors such as empty toner, it is not set as the default printer, or its USB cord or its Network has a connection problem.

Why does Brother printer not detect ink?

The message “Cannot Detect” will appear on the display of the Brother machine after installing an ink cartridge(s) that is (1) installed too quickly or (2) broken or damaged or (3) a non-Brother cartridge.

How many devices can connect to a Brother printer?

You can connect up to 10 mobile devices to the printer via Bluetooth®, but you can only print using one connected device at a time. To print using a different connected device, first unpair the last-used device by turning the printer off and then on again.

How many pages can I print with a Brother printer?

Do Brother printers have Wi-Fi Direct?

Press Menu button on the machine’s control panel. Press the Up or Down arrow key to select Network, and then press OK. Press the Up or Down arrow key to select Wi-Fi Direct, and then press OK.

Does Brother printer print in color?

The printer checks the content of your documents for color. If color is detected, it prints in color. If no color content is detected, it prints in monochrome.

Does Brother printer scan in color?

You can scan in color.

Do Brother printers store data?

Yup, it’s true. Everything you’ve ever scanned or printed has been saved to the device.

Does Brother printer have Sleep Mode?

To adjust the Sleep Mode setting, follow these steps: Press Menu and choose General Setup => Ecology => Sleep Time. Do one of the following: Use the keys on the dial pad and enter the number of minutes the machine is idle before it enters Sleep Mode. You can enter 00 to 99.

Does Brother printer have a battery?

A coin cell battery is used as a backup power supply to maintain the settings for the internal clock. Battery power is consumed even if the printer is not in use. Remove the battery if you do not intend to use the printer for an extended period of time. We recommend replacing the battery every two years.
